Today we’re talking about the first part of most accelerator applications — describing what your company does.
Most of the time, you will get 3 chances to explain it, now these may seem simple, but it takes most founders a lot of iteration to get them right:
1. One liner —
These are a few words to describe your company — no more. It needs to be simple enough for any adult to understand and you should opt for simplicity over precision. Don’t try to explain everything in your first sentence.
2. Paragraph description —
A few sentences covering your product’s core use case and vision. Ideally, you would find a way to also mention your team’s strength and traction.
3. Website —
A simple website that works on desktop and mobile, concisely articulating your value proposition to a customer, with more detailed information available if someone wants to dig in. Animations and fancy visuals are not required.
Best of luck out there.
