Today, we’re talking about focusing on engagement over revenue.

In the early days of your startup it’s usually better to focus on engaging customers with your product versus generating revenue.

You need to prove people need your product first. Once you have iterated numerous times and customers are reliant on the product, then you’ll find they will be willing to pay a lot more than expected. It’s amazing how much budget can be found for things you can’t live without.

Focusing on engagement early will also make selling easier. You can build great case studies, as those first customers really need your product, and so will sing your praises.
