Here’s how you find the best candidates for your open roles.
Hiring is one of the hardest and most important founder tasks. Obviously, if you want to hire the best people, you’re going to need to find them first. The general principle here is to test multiple sources, to maximize your chances.
1. Job Boards
The largest job boards and job search engines can provide a high volume of candidates. There will be lots of noise here but you can find some great folks.
2. Communities and Social Media
Your existing networks and communities are usually the best source for high-quality candidates, including employee referrals. However, these channels require additional effort, such as posting to mailing lists or asking your team and investors to repost your jobs.
3. Recruiters and Marketplaces
Despite the mixed reputation among founders, recruiters are a great way to fill your funnel with quality talent, however you need to be prepared for the higher cost. Just remember to quickly switch out those that aren’t sending enough suitable candidates.
Best of luck out there.
